The Toronto Raptors have captivated not only the basketball world, but an entire nation.
Now one win away from bringing the first NBA title to Canada, things are about to get crazy up north. In fact, that could already be happening.
Even with nearly three full days between Game 4 of the NBA Finals and Game 5 on Monday, tons of Raptors fans are already lining up outside of Scotiabank Arena to seats inside the now famous “Jurassic Park” fan zone.
“Thirty-three-year-old Angie Taylor and 31-year-old Tyler Seaton of Cambridge, Ont., say they were lined up Friday afternoon for Game 4, but got back right back in line for Game 5 after the final buzzer sounded,” CBC in Canada reported Saturday.
The Raptors entered their 2019 NBA Finals matchup with the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors as major underdogs.
What has followed could be something for the history books. Kawhi Leonard is putting up one of the most-dominating performances in NBA Finals history.
The Raptors went into the famed Oracle Arena in Oakland and took the past two games.
Meanwhile, things seem to be falling apart for the injury-plagued Warriors.
Fans up north hope Monday’s game is one that concludes with a celebration. If so, they’ll celebrate in the most Canadian way possible. No rioting. No cars on fire. No arrests. Just pure bliss.
