The Los Angeles Rams are going to need all hands on deck to take out the undefeated San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Unfortunately, that might not be the case. It’s being noted that Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley missed practice on Wednesday with a quad injury.
Missing a mid-week practice normally doesn’t bode well for a player suiting up the following weekend.
Gurley, 25, was limited throughout the offseason with a leg injury. He’s put up 270 rushing yards in five games and is on pace for a career-worst season.
Behind Gurley on the depth chart, rookie Darrell Henderson has attempted just one rush. Meanwhile, Malcolm Brown is averaging 4.4 yards per attempt on the season.
This comes with Los Angeles set to take on a 49ers defense that ranks fifth against the run and boasts the No. 2 overall unit in the NFL.
If the Rams were to lose this game, they’d fall three games behind San Francisco in the loss column.
