The Oakland Raiders added much-needed depth to their backfield on Thursday, reportedly signing former Cleveland Browns and New York Jets running back Isaiah Crowell to a one-year contract.
Crowell, 26, was let go by the Jets after they signed All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell earlier in the offseason.
In his only season with New York after signing a free-agent contract, Crowell tallied 837 total yards and six touchdowns at a clip of 5.1 yards per touch.
This move comes with the future of Marshawn Lynch in Oakland still up in the air. Whether the Crowell signing means Lynch is done remains to be seen.
Both sides had agreed to wait until next month’s draft is complete before drawing an ultimate conclusion.
