For the second year in a row here in Las Vegas, The Raiders Foundation once again held a Toys-for-Tots toy drive at its Raider Image store at Town Square Las Vegas. Raiders alumni Cliff Branch and Jerry Robinson were on hand to sign autographs.
Time and time again the Raiders have shown how much they will do to make their future home of Las Vegas a better place through charitable efforts led by the Raiders Foundation. With the holiday season in full swing, the Raiders held their second annual Toys-For-Tots toy drive at its Town Square Raider Image store location.
For the donation of a new and unwrapped toy, or a $10 cash donation, Raider Nation received free autographs and pictures with Raiders legends Cliff Branch and Jerry Robinson. The crowd, some of who lined up as early as 3pm for the 6pm event, were able to meet and talk with the two former Raiders superstars who were happy to be supporting such a great cause.
“This is what the Raiders do in the community,” said Raiders icon Cliff Branch. “By doing this the Raiders Foundation is able to help make it a happy holiday season for a lot of kids here in the Las Vegas community.”
Branch, who said he is buying a second home in Las Vegas when the team arrives in 2020, said he was happy to be back in Nevada working to help kids happy.
“It’s the least I can do to make sure no kid has a bad Christmas,” Branch said.
Members of the US Marine Corps. Reserves were on hand to collect the toy and cash donations, which will be given to the Toys for Tots of Southern Nevada. According to the Raiders Foundation:Â “By providing those in need with a shiny new toy during the holiday season, Toys for Tots strives to deliver a message of hope to needy youngsters intended to motivate them to grow up to be responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.”
The Raiders Foundation continues to ramp up its presence in Southern Nevada with what seemingly are weekly efforts to improve our community.
