The Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos game on Sunday has been one violent affair. It started with three players getting ejected following this ugly brawl early in the first quarter.
Then, as the first half came to a near culmination, Raiders receiver Amari Cooper was knocked unconscious by Broncos safety Darian Stewart. Be warned, the play itself is not appealing to the stomach.

Stewart was ultimately penalized for a hit on a defensiveless receiver. But this is really on Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. You can’t throw high and to the outside in the middle of the field. That is trouble for the intended receiver most of the time.
A different angle shows just how brutal the hit itself was.

Stewart did lead with his shoulder, so the penalty itself is questionable.
More importantly, the focus here has to be on Cooper’s health. He was seemingly unconscious for a bit before being carted off the field. Though, the star receiver did appear to be fully conscious and moving about as he left the field. That’s good news.
