Pistons sign veteran forward Markieff Morris, per report

The Detroit Pistons continue to have a low-key great offseason. Fresh off signing former NBA MVP Derrick Rose, Detroit has reportedly added veteran forward Markieff Morris.

Morris, 29, could very well slot in as Detroit’s starting small forward, joining a front court that already includes All-Stars Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond.

He could also back up at the power forward position, a spot Morris has played throughout the vast majority of his career.

The veteran wing averaged 9.4 points and 4.6 rebounds splitting time between the Washington Wizards and Oklahoma City Thunder last season.

His best performance came back in 2014-15 when the former first-round pick averaged north of 15 points to go with 6.2 rebounds for the Phoenix Suns.
