Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham is expected to play against the visiting Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday after missing the past seven games with a strained left knee.
Cunningham hasn’t played since Jan. 7, when he left a 131-114 loss to the Nuggets in the second quarter. He had three points, three rebounds and three assists in 11 minutes against Denver.
The Pistons have gone 1-6 during Cunningham’s absence.
Cunningham, 22, has averaged a team-high 22.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists across 36 games (all starts) this season for Detroit. He is in his third NBA season after being selected first overall by the Pistons in the 2021 draft.
