Pierre Garcon requested trade from Washington during 2016 season

Pierre Garcon

Receiver Pierre Garcon played the entire 2016 season with the Washington Redskins. But according to a report, he didn’t want to.

This was confirmed by John Keim of ESPN, who cited Garcon’s agent.

Hearing that, it makes complete sense that the Redskins are so willing to let Garcon test the free agency waters before offering him a contract, which you can read about here.

Garcon may not have wanted to play in Washington in 2016. Still, he enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career.

Garcon caught 79 passes for 1,041 yards in 2016. Both totals were the second best in his carer. That’s certainly the right kind of season for a receiver to have heading into free agency. The Arizona Cardinals and cap rich San Francisco 49ers are among teams that have some reported interest in him.
