A trend synonymous with the Seattle Seahawks’ winning tradition over the past few years is their trash talk.
From Roger Goodell and replacement officials to Michael Crabtree and media cooperation, no opinion has been spared by the back-to-back NFC champions. Now entering their second Super Bowl in as many seasons, Seattle’s finest are at it again. Yet this time things are a bit different, as their opponents aren’t biting. Coming off as more Foghorn Leghorn than Wilmer Valderrama of “Yo Mama” fame, the Seahawks still have a week to get their smack-talk back in order.
Let’s start with Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane. Lane mouthed off about Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski, providing an opinion nobody asked for. Seemingly another Seahawk’ tradition.

Perhaps Jeremy would do well to stay in his lane, considering both player’s career statistics.

Rob Gronkowski 54 career touchdowns

Rob Gronkowski, much like the rest of the Patriots’ players, has too much class to sink down to Lane’s level, and responded accordingly.

Paging Jeremy Lane to the burn unit, Gronk really let the air out of that situation.
The exchanges shown exemplify the tremendous difference in class between these two teams. The Patriots’ players respect their opponents and the game itself, while the Seahawks are always complaining about something. At the moment, Seattle is more Andy Samberg and less Stone Cold Steve Austin. Perhaps the trash-talk should stop before they risk firing up Tom Brady’s favorite target.
