As the New England Patriots continue to look for answers to their kicking woes this season, head coach Bill Belichick is willing to look anywhere for help – even YouTube.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, New England signed kicker Josh Gable, a YouTube trick-shot specialist, to its practice squad.
Gable attended New England’s minicamp in 2017 and has kicked professionally for the Indoor Football League. He never played football in college, but has gained attention online for his impressive power.
It’s a bit surprising that New England is the team to sign Gable, given Belichick’s dislike for social media and anything viral, but this is also an organization that finds every possible way to win.
Hopefully, Gable sticks around for a while and gets a shot to kick in an NFL game, or at least is around long enough for a reporter to ask Belichick about YouTube.
