When the league’s most-successful franchise does something that makes very little sense, you give it a pass. Maybe it’s the madness of one Bill Belichick coming into play, some will chime in.

Well, if that dialogue actually plays out here, we might very well see some non-quarterbacks under center moving forward. And no, we’re not talking about the failed wild cat craze that took the league by storm several years ago.
With Tom Brady suspended and Jimmy Garoppolo extremely questionable to play on Thursday against the Houston Texans, New England is preparing as if wide receiver Julian Edelman will get some snaps under center.
By preparing, we mean that the Pats have reportedly “done extensive preparation” to get  Edelman up to speed.

A wide receiver in college at Kent State, Edelman has thrown a grand total of one NFL pass. It came during the playoffs back in 2014, and resulted in a 51-yard touchdown strike.
