Indiana Pacers guard T.J. McConnell is expected to miss multiple weeks because of a right wrist injury, coach Rick Carlisle announced Friday.

The 29-year-old McConnell left Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks after logging only three minutes of playing time. He is averaging 8.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 24 games (six starts) on the season.

Carlisle said McConnell would miss “weeks, not days,” but did not elaborate on the injury. He added that the team will use a committee approach to replace McConnell’s minutes at the point.

McConnell is in his third season with the Pacers after spending his first four seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. He has career averages of 6.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 478 career games (84 starts).
