Ottawa Senators defenseman Victor Mete on Tuesday became the fourth member of the organization to enter the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol.

The Senators canceled Monday’s practice as a precaution after Nick Holden and associate coach Jack Capuano entered the protocol on Sunday. Forward Austin Watson preceded them last Friday.

The Senators play Tuesday night in Boston before returning home to face the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

Mete, 23, has four assists in nine games this season. He has 40 points (five goals, 35 assists) in 208 career games with the Montreal Canadiens (2017-21) and Senators, who claimed him off waivers in April.

Ottawa also recalled goaltender Filip Gustavsson from AHL affiliate Belleville with starter Anton Forsberg sidelined Tuesday with a non-COVID related illness.
