After coming to an agreement with Jabari Parker, the Atlanta Hawks have reportedly traded 2018 first-round pick Omari Spellman to the Golden State Warriors.
Golden State also added guard Alec Burks on a one-year deal Monday, adding more depth to their backcourt following the sign-and-trade deal with Brooklyn for D’Angelo Russell.
Spellman, 21, was the 30th overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft out of Villinova. He played 46 games as a rookie last season, averaging 5.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
He has struggled so far this summer with conditioning and is certainly a work in progress. Though, the Warriors are a team that could potentially stash him on the bench to see if he can eventually develop into a star.
