Ole Miss graduate transfer Khadim Sy will play his final season of eligibility at Wake Forest.

The 6-foot-10 Sy started 31 of 45 games played during two seasons at Ole Miss and averaged 7.2 points and 4.4 rebounds.

“We’re thrilled to have Khadim come to Wake Forest and join the Demon Deacon family,” Wake Forest coach Steve Forbes said in a statement. “Along with his obvious offensive prowess to score the ball and make plays for others, Khadim will bring size, toughness and defensive experience to our team. He is a very personable young man.”

Sy was hindered with concussion issues and an undisclosed illness during the 2020-21 season and played in just 14 games (two starts). He averaged 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds.

The previous season, Sy averaged 9.0 and 5.5 rebounds in 31 games (29 starts).

The Senegal native began his career at Virginia Tech in 2016-17 when he averaged 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 32 games. He left the Hokies on two occasions — returning the first time and redshirting in 2017-18 — and spent one season at a junior college (Daytona State in Florida) before moving on to Ole Miss.
