Ohio State to wear strange alternate gray scale uniform for PSU game

Maybe it will look really cool when Ohio State takes the field Saturday in Columbus against Penn State, but the alternate gray scale uniform looks very odd to us now.

The university’s football program unveiled its newest creation on Twitter Monday with a series of photos and a very strange, haunting video to show off this gray scale uniform.

Here’s how this uniform is described by The Columbus Dispatch:

“The jersey will be all gray, but with a scarlet block of logo on the front of the neck line. The numbers will be in a darker shade of gray, and the stripes on the sleeves will be differing shades of gray. The pants will be a lighter gray, like the bulk of the jersey, with darker gray stripes. Socks will be gray, and bear a camouflage pattern much like the helmet.”

The one thing this scribe does like is the way the bright red accents the cloudy day gray. But overall this is an ugly look. Hopefully the sun is shining in Colombus Saturday afternoon. Because if it’s overcast, it’s going to be very weird.
