NRG, T1 continue good fortune at Swiss Stage of Worlds

The Alienware Longhorn E-sports Lounge in the Texas Union, Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023. The upstairs lounge was the first stage of UT's partnership with Alienware and opened in August of 2022. The larger arena downstairs, opened this week, builds upon the success of the lounge.

NRG and T1 each recorded a sweep in their respective Round 4 High Matches on Saturday in Swiss Stage action at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship.

Juan “Contractz” Garcia was named the MVP after helping NRG notch a 2-0 win over G2 Esports. NRG collected a 31-minute win on blue and 28-minute victory on red.

T1 posted a 2-0 triumph over Bilibili Gaming, courtesy of a 29-minute win on blue and 31-minute victory on red.

Competition continues Sunday with three Round 5 High Matches as KT Rolster take on Dplus, G2 face Bilibili Gaming and Fnatic challenge Weibo Gaming.

After the Swiss Stage, the $2.225 million world championship advances to the knockout stage. All rounds are being contested in venues in South Korea. The knockout round concludes with the Nov. 19 grand final at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
