World No. 1 Jin Young Ko, nursing a left wrist injury that forced her to withdraw from the CP Women’s Open over the weekend, is planning to play the final two LPGA events next month in Florida.

Ko’s manager told Golfweek on Monday that she’s receiving treatment on the wrist and is planning to play in the Pelican Women’s Championship (Nov. 10-13) in Belleair and CME Group Tour Championship (Nov. 17-20) in Naples.

Ko had not played on the LPGA Tour since late August because of a wrist injury and entered the CP Women’s Open with her No. 1 ranking slipping. She started well by playing her first nine holes of the event at 1-under-par but struggled on the back nine to shoot an 8-over 80.

After shooting a 79 in the second round Friday, Ko withdrew before Saturday’s third round.

“Accept, think, move on,” Ko posted to her Instagram page Monday.

However, Ko was able to hold on to her No. 1 ranking when World No. 2, Thailand teenager Atthaya Thitikul, finished sixth at the CP Women’s Open after shooting a final-round 74. Thitikul needed a fourth-place finish to supplant Ko atop the rankings.

Ko has occupied the top spot for 38 consecutive weeks.
