Australia’s Nick Kyrgios will join defending champion Team World at the Laver Cup, organizers announced Monday.
The men’s tennis team event featuring Team Europe and Team World takes place in Vancouver from Sept. 22-24.
Kyrgios, 27, joins Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime and Americans Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz.
Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas and Russia’s Andrey Rublev are the only confirmed members so far for Team Europe.
It will be the fifth Laver Cup for Kyrgios, who missed last year’s tournament as Team World won 13-8 in London.
Team Europe swept the first four Laver Cups in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.
John McEnroe is the captain of Team World and Bjorn Borg is the skipper for Team Europe for the 2023 event.
