While he only played in 104 games for the Los Angeles Rams, Cooper Kupp will go down as one of the greatest receivers in franchise history. He is third all-time in receptions (634) and touchdowns (57), and fourth in receiving yards (7,776). However, all great things come to an end.
Kupp revealed last month the team informed him they would look to trade him this offseason. However, with no deals close to materializing, it was reported this week that he is likely to be cut when the new league year starts this month. Assuming the one-time Pro Bowler is released soon, here are five teams likely to target the Rams legend.
Cooper Kupp stats (2024): 67 receptions, 710 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns, 10.6 yards per catch
Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys need more weapons on offense. CeeDee Lamb is a legit star in the NFL, but he is the focus of opposing defenses each week. Dallas could use a WR2 deserving of respect. Kupp certainly fills the bill. And would come at a fair rate after a trio of down seasons after earning Pro Bowl honors in 2021.
Carolina Panthers

Late in the 2024 season, Bryce Young took some big steps forward under QB guru and head coach Dave Canales. If he is to continue to develop, he needs reliable weapons in the passing game. While the Carolina Panthers would love a player like Tee Higgins, Kupp is a more realistic option at a reasonable price. If healthy, Kupp is still a high level player and could make a real difference in Carolina.
Las Vegas Raiders

After trading for Geno Smith last week, the Las Vegas Raiders are sure to pivot to adding more weapons for their new starting quarterback. Kupp would certainly be a nice edition for Vegas in 2025. Furthermore, after playing in Los Angeles his entire career, finding a new team close to home could certainly appeal to the 31-year-old.
Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills offense surprised many by playing at an elite level despite losing star receiver Stefon Diggs. While his loss didn’t hurt them during the regular season, the need for more impact players on offense was apparent in the playoffs. The Bills have next to nothing to spend in free agency. But they could certainly free up some space if Cooper Kupp seriously considers a move to upstate New York to go for another Super Bowl title.
New England Patriots

The New England Patriots entered the offseason with the most salary cap space in the league and have spent a lot of it over the first few days of free agency. However, much of it has been on defense. They badly need to get young stud QB Drake Maye help on offense. If they are looking for a cost-effective impact player, Kupp would be that. While also bringing another proven veteran with a winning pedigree to the locker room.
