One of the more important items that owners will vote on this week is the proposal of the competition committee to redefine the catch rule.
According to at least two NFC East executives, the proposal (which you can read more about here) is expected to pass. Both Dallas Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones and New York Giants owner John Mara have noted they expect the owners to approve the proposal.

The catch issue has been relevant for the last several seasons. In 2017, in particular, a late season game between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers was potentially impacted by the rule. Even the referees were apparently confused by another ruling, and in January, commissioner Roger Goodell noted that he wanted a change.
Certainly, a modification of the rule seems long overdue. We can only hope that any changes will provide a more satisfactory and permanent solution.
