While Christian McCaffrey had a prolific career at Stanford, that’s not solely what he can attribute his high draft stock to. He can also thank his performance at the combine, which according to at least one GM, was historically good.
One NFL GM said Christian McCaffrey "had the best combine workout I've seen. Ever." It's one reason McCaffrey likely to go in top 10.

When looking at the raw numbers the Stanford star put up (more on that here), it’s hard to dispute that notion.
McCaffrey was also impressive when running his position drills.

Also helping McCaffrey is that he’s one of the most versatile players in recent memory. In his time at Stanford, McCaffrey showed himself to be a stellar running back, receiver, and return man. So, while some teams may need him more than others, he can realistically fit in anywhere.
He certainly has a lot going for him as the draft approaches.
