It happened. The blockbuster to end all midseason blockbusters. The Golden State Warriors have traded 23-year-old All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a package that includes Andrew Wiggins.
The two seemed to be at a stalemate leading up to Thursday’s NBA trade deadline with the Warriors demanding an unprotected first-round pick from Minnesota.
That changed. In addition to Wiggins, the Wolves will send their 2021 first-round pick to Golden State should it land outside of the top three. If not, the Warriors net Minnesota’s unprotected 2022 first-round pick.
As expected, the NBA world had its reactions to this trade. Most of them looked at it from a negative light as it relates to Golden State.
