Los Angeles Chargers first-round rookie receiver Mike Williams is dealing with what’s being described as “mile disc herniation” in his back. He’ll be held out of offseason activities for the remainder of the offseason as a result.

Hopefully this really is just an issue that will disappear with some rest and treatment. Los Angeles invested the No. 7 overall pick on Williams, who wasn’t the consensus top receiver in the draft. When healthy, he’s a beast from a physical standpoint, standing in at 6-foot-4 and 218 pounds.
Williams missed an entire season as a collegiate player at Clemson after fracturing a vertebrae when he hit a goal post the first game of the 2015 campaign. It’s unknown at this time exactly where the disc hernation is in his lower back, but it absolutely nowhere close to the injury he suffered in college.
During his final season at Clemson, Williams caught 98 passes for 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns.
