The Melvin Gordon trade rumors are swirling plenty following the news that his agent requested a trade amid a heated contract dispute with the Los Angeles Chargers.
One team that won’t be attempting a trade, however, is the Houston Texans, according to tenured Texans reporter John McClain.
While it is a bit intoxicating envisioning a Gordon/Deshaun Watson backfield, McClain’s report makes sense. If the Texans do make a trade, there’s another high-profile holdout that would be much better suited for this team’s roster than Gordon, anyway.
That doesn’t mean some teams shouldn’t at least attempt to get through to Chargers general manager Tom Telesco. We recently broke down five teams that could particularly use the running back’s talents, if they are willing to pay him what he believes he’s worth.
