McLeod Bethel-Thompson went 23-for-31 passing for 227 yards and tossed both his team touchdowns as the New Orleans Breakers held off the host Houston Gamblers 17-10 on Sunday in Memphis, Tenn.

Bethel-Thompson connected with Johnnie Dixon on a 30-yard touchdown in the first half and doubled the lead to 14-0 in the third quarter with a 4-yard TD pass to Dee Anderson. Dixon finished with the team lead in receiving (three catches, 60 yards).

New Orleans (7-3) won despite gaining just 23 rushing yards and 234 total yards of offense. The Breakers forced Houston (5-5) into five punts, a turnover on downs and an interception — Vontae Diggs’ pick of Montell Cozart.
