Max Scherzer was supposed to start Game 5 of the World Series, but the Washington Nationals ace was a late scratch due to neck pain. On Tuesday, roughly 48 hours after a cortisone shot was administered to alleviate pain, the veteran was seen throwing in left field ahead of Game 6.
If there is any way Scherzer can pitch in Game 6, he will. He’s one of the toughest players in MLB and has proved that time and time again.
With Washington facing a 3-2 deficit and a must-win game to extend the World Series, Scherzer is clearly doing everything he can to be there for his teammates.
