Miami Marlins left-hander Trevor Rogers departed Wednesday’s start against the San Francisco Giants in the fourth inning due to left forearm tightness.

Rogers allowed back-to-back hits to start the fourth inning, including an RBI double to Darin Ruf. Catcher Jacob Stallings was concerned after Ruf’s double and went to the mound and manager Skip Schumaker and a team trainer also came out.

After a conversation, Rogers exited without tossing a warmup pitch.

Rogers, 25, gave up one run and three hits in three-plus innings on Wednesday in a game that Marlins lost 5-2 in 11 innings. He struck out three and walked one.

Rogers is 1-2 with a 4.00 ERA in four starts this season.

Rogers was runner-up for National League Rookie of the Year honors in 2021, when he went 7-8 with a 2.64 ERA in 25 starts. Last season, he struggled with back and lat issues and went 4-11 with a 5.47 ERA in 23 starts.
