When the news of Mark Trumbo joining the Diamondbacks circulated the baseball world, every team in the National League West, probably peed a little, in fear. The combination of Trumbo and Paul Goldschmidt in the batter’s box could only lead to one word: fear.
Major League Baseball was still trying to figure out an important question when slugger Trumbo joined the D-Backs organization, and the question was: Did it hurt the Angels more to lose Trumbo, or HELP the Diamondbacks more to gain Trumbo?
So far, it’s not looking like it’s going to be easy for the Angels to make an impact on the difficult division that is the American League West. Let’s remember reigning AL West Champions, Oakland A’s are a team that is tough to beat, and you can’t sleep on the Seattle Mariners this season. The Angels of course know this.
Going back to Mark Trumbo, he’s had a hell of a week according to Mike Axisa, baseball writer at CBS Sports. The 28 year-old went 9 for 26 with four bombs, in this week alone. He also leads the MLB in home runs with five, RBI’s (13) and total bases (27). I know the Halos are very much in love with Mike Trout, but you have to admit, they are missing Trumbo right about now.
