The Seattle Mariners transferred right-handed pitcher Emerson Hancock to the 60-day injured list and reinstated right-hander Bryan Woo from the 15-day IL among a flurry of roster moves on Tuesday.

Woo will make his 12th career major league start in Tuesday night’s game at the Chicago White Sox.

Hancock, a rookie like Woo, exited his start Sunday against Houston after two scoreless innings with a right shoulder strain. He was placed on the 15-day IL Monday before the move Tuesday, which ends his season.

The sixth overall pick of the 2020 draft is no stranger to arm injuries. His start to last season was delayed by a lat strain. In three starts for the Mariners this season, the 24-year-old pitched to a 4.50 ERA (six earned runs in 12 innings) without a decision.

Woo, 23, was 1-3 with a 4.75 ERA over his first 11 starts before landing on the IL earlier this month with right forearm inflammation.

The Mariners also optioned right-handers Darren McCaughan and Eduard Bazardo to Triple-A Tacoma after Monday’s game and signed right-hander Luke Weaver to a major league contract on Tuesday.

Weaver, 30, will be in uniform for Seattle on Tuesday night. The Cincinnati Reds designated him for assignment on Aug. 16 and released two days latter.

In eight seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2016-18), Arizona Diamondbacks (2019-22), Kansas City Royals (2022) and Reds, Weaver is 26-40 with a 5.16 ERA over 136 games (102 starts). He went 2-4 with a 6.87 ERA in 21 starts for the Reds this season, allowing a career-high 24 home runs.
