Marcus Mariota is ‘uncertain’ for pivotal game vs. Colts

The Tennessee Titans need a victory to reach the playoffs, but quarterback Marcus Mariota might not be available opposite the Indianapolis Colts.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Mariota, who left Tennessee’s most recent game, is dealing with a stinger and questionable for Week 17.

Mariota exited the Week 16 clash with Washington in the second quarter due to the stinger. Blaine Gabbert replaced him and led the Titans to a 26-18 win.

Since the New Orleans Saints toppled the Pittsburgh Steelers, though, the AFC South showdown in Tennessee is a win-or-go-home matchup.

Additionally, both the Colts and Titans hold 9-6 records and actually have an outside chance at winning the division. While unlikely at best, that would involve the Jacksonville Jaguars defeating Houston.

But the overall point remains the same: The Titans need a win. And they might have to challenge Andrew Luck and the surging Colts without Mariota.
