Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus recently signed a contract worth more than $100 million. Now, he’s figuring out how to spend reasonably large chunks of the money.
According to Tyler Dunne of The Buffalo News, Dareus said 400 people traveled to Buffalo’s recent game on eight buses, and he picked up the tab for the tickets.
Marcell Dareus just said he had 400 people on eight buses at the game. Paid for all the tickets. New contract coming in handy.

Dareus’ visitors watched the Bills manage a hard-fought 14-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans, who surrendered a game-winning touchdown with just 5:25 remaining in the fourth quarter. Buffalo improved to 3-2 for the year, and Dareus notched a season-best five total tackles.
Although the seating location of the tickets Dareus shelled out the money for was not specified, it certainly was a hefty bill. At $75, which is a fairly conservative estimate, the tab would’ve been $30,000. Regardless, it was probably only a fractional piece of the $108 million contract he inked.
Hopefully he’s aware of the numerous stories of former athletes who wasted all their money because they wrongly believe it would never run out. For now, though, it was a considerate move from Dareus and a neat story to share.
