The Toronto Maple Leafs put defenseman Jake Muzzin on injured reserve Wednesday with a neck injury.

The move is retroactive to Monday, from which he’ll have to miss at least seven days.

The Leafs recalled defenseman Filip Kral from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League to take Muzzin’s spot on the roster.

Muzzin, 33, sustained the injury in Monday’s game against Arizona after colliding with Coyotes forward Clayton Keller in the second period.

Muzzin has an assist in four games this season, his fifth in Toronto. He has 294 points (69 goals, 225 assists) in 683 games with the Los Angeles Kings (2010-19) and Maple Leafs.

Toronto hosts the Dallas Stars on Thursday.
