The Dallas Mavericks ruled out star guard Luka Doncic for the team’s next game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday with left ankle soreness.
Wednesday’s game will mark the third straight missed contest for Doncic. He aggravated the ankle issue when he turned it last Friday against the Indiana Pacers. Doncic, 22, missed three games last month after spraining the ankle on Nov. 15.
Doncic is averaging 25.6 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.5 assists in 21 games this season.
The Mavericks are 2-4 in games Doncic hasn’t played. He’s a two-time All-Star.
The Mavs also announced that Willie Cauley-Stein will miss Wednesday’s game for personal reasons and Sterling Brown (foot soreness) is questionable.
