The saga of Lucky Whitehead has already taken some interesting twists and turns since news broke Monday morning that a warrant was out for his arrest.
Whitehead was reportedly arrested earlier this year after shoplifting around $200 worth of merchandise from a convenience store in Virginia. When he did not show up for his court date, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Monday morning also marked the first time the Dallas Cowboys found out about any of this, which has Whitehead in some very hot water with head coach Jason Garrett.
Though, it’s also worth pointing out that Whitehead has said he knew nothing about the warrant. Furthemore, his lawyer says the receiver wasn’t even in the state of Virginia when the arrest is said to have taken place.
Spoke with agent Dave Rich, who represents #Cowboys WR Lucky Whitehead. He tells me his client was NOT in VA the time of alleged incident

There’s something fishy about all of this, and we can’t wait to see where this latest twist takes us.
Whitehead signed a three-year, $1.5 million deal in 2015 with Dallas. He has been mainly utilized as a return man and tallied 719 total return yards last year for the ‘Boys.
