Those attending Monday’s game between the Kansas City Royals and Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park will have plenty of room to stretch out.
As the game was starting, the outfield seats were almost completely devoid of people.

The rest of the park had more spectators, but only slightly. There were plenty of good seats to be had all throughout the park.
A bit of a sparse crowd at PNC Park tonight for Pirates-Royals. Not that I can blame people for not coming, given the threat of rain pic.twitter.com/cIhI2SdVYq

It is certainly understandable. In addition to the threat of rain, this doesn’t figure to be much of a game. The Royals certainly aren’t going to draw as an opponent this late in the year. At 52-97 entering Monday’s game, they’ve long been eliminated. Meanwhile, the Pirates are mathematically alive but are realistically out of contention.
But if you want to take in a live game without dealing with the crowds, the rest of this series might be for you. It’s a three-game set and we can’t imagine PNC Park being much more crowded on Tuesday or Wednesday.
