The Washington Nationals are celebrating their 50th anniversary as an organization against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.
As we previously noted, they are doing so by wearing their old Montreal Expos uniforms. And they are absolutely tremendous.
The Nationals played in Montreal from 1969-2004 before relocating to D.C. in time for the 2005 season.
Sure the latter part of the Expos’ existence in Montreal was defined by record-low attendance. But 36 years in the Canadian hub deserves to be honored.
Respect to the Nationals for paying homage to their history.
