It’s awfully hard to imagine that Dak Prescott could have done any worse on this play during Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins.
With his Dallas Cowboys trailing 13-10 in the fourth quarter, Prescott dropped back to near his own goal line to pass the ball. He was not only brought down by Ryan Kerrigan, but fumbled the ball. Preston Smith scooped it up for the easy score.

Remember, this was a third-and-14. Chances are, Dallas wasn’t getting the first down anyway. Prescott should have simply thrown the ball away. At the very least, he could have just braced for the hit and held onto the ball.
Instead, Prescott dropped back into the end zone. At this point, his best bet is a safety, which would have given Washington two points and the ball. But with the fumble, Prescott really went the extra mile on this one.
