The Boston Celtics are out to prove that they are the new kings of the Eastern Conference now that LeBron James is doing his thing in Hollywood.
Tuesday’s season-opening game against another title contender in that of the Philadelphia 76ers won’t decide much. But it will give one team bragging rights when the first game of the NBA season kicks off inside TD Garden in Boston.
It’s in this that the Celtics are already staking claim to what many Boston fans believe is their rightful place atop the NBA hierarchy. We’re not even kidding.

Yes, that’s the Boston area code right there. It’s pretty alpha move for the Celtics as they start a season that has championship aspirations written all over it.
Interestingly, most view Philadelphia as the team that will most closely compete with Boston in the Eastern Conference. Bragging rights might be on the line here. But the petty has already started.
We say, job well done.
