Paul Skenes had a little extra love for his first ever Opening Day start – his girlfriend, LSU gymnast and social media star Olivia “Livvy” Dunne – was cheering him on from the crowd.
The right-handed pitcher, who was the first overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2023 MLB Draft, became the fastest No. 1 pick to start on Opening Day in the league’s history. And Dunne brought some other celebrity pals to celebrate.
Dunne was joined by Sports Illustrated model Xandra Pohl and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman as they took in the Pirates’ 5-4 to the Marlins in Miami. She posted a bunch of pictures to her Instagram story to mark the occasion. The three are casually dressed, with the gymnast sporting a black Pirates hat with a yellow P on it. “Big Paul fans,” reads one of the photos.
Dunne and Skenes met through mutual friends while both were student-athletes at LSU – Skenes’ best friend was dating Dunne’s roommate. The pair have been romantically linked since June 2023, and Skenes confirmed their relationship in August of that year. They regularly post each other on social media, and apparently bonded over their mutual love for and dedication to athletic pursuits.
