Team Liquid rallied to defeat FaZe Clan 2-1 in the Group C upper-bracket final and reach the group’s grand final at the BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023 on Monday in Copenhagen.
Also in Group C, G2 Esports beat OG 2-0 to move into the lower-bracket final, where they will meet FaZe on Wednesday.
FaZe opened with a 16-11 win over Liquid on Inferno, but Liquid evened the match with a narrow 16-14 triumph on Mirage. The last map was Ancient, where Liquid pulled away to win 16-8.
Josh “oSee” Ohm paced Liquid with 65 kills and a plus-16 kills-to-deaths differential, while teammate Keith “NAF” Markovic of Canada had 63 kills on a plus-12 K-D. Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken of Canada led all players with 67 kills for FaZe.
G2 defeated OG 16-6 on Ancient and 16-7 on Inferno. Russia’s Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov led the victors with 45 kills and a plus-22 K-D. Every OG player finished with a minus-11 differential or worse.
The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event began with a double-elimination group stage, with the field split into three groups of four teams.
All matches are best-of-three as winners of each group will advance straight to the Fall Finals. The remaining nine teams advance to the seeded play-in stage to compete for three more Fall Finals berths.
