The Dallas Cowboys came out of Round 1 of the 2020 NFL Draft Thursday night with one of the best selections of the top 32.
It came in the form of Oklahoma product, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Some had Lamb mocked within the top-10 picks. And while owner Jerry Jones was focused on defense, that selection was too hard to pass up on.
After taking Alabama corner Trevon Diggs in the second round, the Cowboys doubled down on Oklahoma with defensive tackle Neville Gallimore in Round 3.
Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley had a hilarious take on the Cowboys looking to Norman for upgrades.
For us older folk, there’s definitely a Barry Switzer joke somewhere in here. Alas, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy does not have to worry about that.
Riley had hinted in the past that the Cowboys were interested in at least one of his high-profile players. Now that the team has added two former Sooners, it seems like the youngish head coach knows what he’s talking about.
