Basketball’s most popular family may be heading overseas. LiAngelo, who LaVar Ball recently pulled from UCLA, and LaMelo Ball want to play together internationally.
In a report from BasketEurope (h/t Sportando), the family’s representation has been gauging interest from teams about the younger brothers of Lonzo Ball. The site obtained a copy of the pitch, reportedly from agent Harrison Gaines.
“Money is not a big concern, and they would ideally like to play for the same club. This would undoubtedly bring much attention to your organization.”
In the email, the agent also said that many people consider LaMelo Ball a potential top-10 NBA draft pick in 2020 and “the most famous high school basketball player in American history.”
According to the report, organizations in Croatia, France, Japan and Lithuania have been offered the Ball brothers. Once an interested team is found, the organization must decide if it’s willing to deal with the media circus that will inevitably follow.
UCLA, meanwhile, is happy to be moving on after the international incident where LiAngelo and two other players were arrested for shoplifting in China.
