Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell held out of training camp. But despite that, he’s ready for an action-packed Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns.
“I’ve been training all offseason. Working hard for 30 carries, whatever it may be, 30 touches” Bell said, via ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. “I’m ready to go out there and just get the job done.”
In 2016, Bell topped the 30 carry mark once and the 30 touch mark three other times. One of those times, however, came in the one game that he played against Cleveland.
Bell was out for all of camp, not signing his $12.1 million franchise tag until Monday.
He certainly has the right attitude now. Bell’s teammates are there to win games and compete for championships. Even those who were sympathetic to his contract struggles will expect big things from him now that he’s back on the field.
Given Bell’s past accolades, there’s no reason to think that he won’t be ready come Week 1.
