On Monday, an ad featuring a young black child wearing a green hoodie made the rounds on social media because of a caption that read, “Coolest monkey in the jungle.”

The Swedish company, H&M, was responsible for the ad and has since apologized.
“We understand that many people are upset about the image. We, who work at H&M, can only agree,” H&M said Monday in a statement to The Washington Post. “We are deeply sorry that the picture was taken, and we also regret the actual print. Therefore, we have not only removed the image from our channels, but also the garment from our product offering globally.
However, the damage had already been done.
Many have spoken out against it, including NBA star, LeBron James.
James certainly has been much more outspoken about societal and political topics in recent years, and we don’t expect him to stop speaking out about things of this nature any time soon.
