The Memphis Grizzlies fired coach David Fizdale on Monday, a move which upset LeBron James. LeBron voiced his frustration on Twitter after the move.
Then, following the Cleveland Cavaliers’ win over the Philadelphia 76ers, he ventured a guess as to what went wrong.

“I don’t know the details of it because I’m not around,” LeBron said. But I know the kind of coach that Fiz is. I know how players relate to him. And I know what he stands for. He don’t stand for no (long pause) maybe that’s what it was. Maybe that’s what it was. Because he ain’t going to kiss nobody’s a**, I know that.”
In addition to being good friends, Fizdale was an assistant with the Miami Heat during James’ four-year tenure with the team.
Fizdale was in his second year with Memphis. In his first year, the Grizzlies went 43-39 and lost in the first round of the playoffs. Memphis was 7-12 prior to Fizdale’s firing and had lost eight in a row.
