The 2018 college football season won’t kick off for a few more weeks, but Lane Kiffin is already bracing himself and his program against the hype that’s coming.
ESPN’s Chris Low predicted that Florida Atlantic would be the unranked team to finish in the top 10 by the end of the year.
“A year ago, it was UCF from the state of Florida going unbeaten and staking a claim for a national championship. This year, watch out for Lane Kiffin and his Florida Atlantic Owls,” Low wrote. “Kiffin thinks they will be even better than a year ago when they won 11 games, and they get Oklahoma to kick off the 2018 season. An upset win over the Sooners, and FAU could be well on its way to an unbeaten season and top-10 finish.”
Well, Kiffin wasn’t having any of that.

For what it’s worth, it’s not hard to get behind Low’s prediction. The Owls were incredibly explosive on offense last year, averaging 40.6 points per game (No. 8 in the nation) while finishing the season with a 11-3 record.
It’s going to be another very fun season of college football. And if you’re not following Kiffin on Twitter, you should be. He’s a blast.
