Signing running back Knowshon Moreno to a one-year contract should help boost the Miami Dolphins running game immensely. Both of Miami’s running backs last year, Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas were incredibly ineffective in producing in its rushing attack. Moreno, ranked fifth among running backs last year with over 1,000 rushing yards, 10 rush touchdowns, and three receiving touchdowns.
This put both Miller’s and Thomas’ 2013 numbers to shame, where it took them to crack 1,100 yards and score six touchdowns combined.
It would be incredibly shocking for Miami not to start Moreno, who was a stud last year, even playing through ankle pain towards the end of the season. This would leave both Miller and Thomas handsomely decorating the bench.
Moreno’s absence from the Broncos also gives second year running back Montee Ball a chance to showcase his skills. From a fantasy football standpoint, Ball suddenly takes on more value. Where it would be hard to repeat the stellar numbers Moreno put up last season, Ball should still see some heads looking his way come fantasy football season.
RT @RapSheet: Knowshon Moreno’s 1-year agreement with the #Dolphins is for about $3M, per source.
