Golden State Warriors star guard Klay Thompson previously indicated that it was hard to imagine him missing Game 3 of the NBA Finals with the strained hamstring he suffered Sunday evening.
Unfortunately for Thompson, the decision was not up to him. In the lead up to Game 3 against the Toronto Raptors, Golden State ruled Thompson out for the game.
It was noted earlier on Wednesday that the Warriors’ brass would prefer that Thompson sat this one out. When head coach Steve Kerr said prior to the game that the ultimate decision wasn’t Thompson’s to make, this became the likeliest scenario.
Thompson and his near 20 points per game in the playoffs now joins Kevin Durant on the shelf as Golden State looks to take a 2-1 series lead against the Toronto Raptors.
