The undefeated New England Patriots host Kirk Cousins and the Washington football team in Week 9, and the quarterback paid his opponent the ultimate compliment.
According to the team’s official Twitter account, he called Tom Brady the greatest of all time.
Cousins on Patriots QB Tom Brady: "I think he's the G.O.A.T. … He's kind of set the standard for all of us to follow."

Even for those who can’t stand Brady, there’s little to argue with Cousins’ proclamation. Plus, Cousins certainly could learn a thing or 50 from a polished Brady when the two face off on Sunday.
Washington stands at 3-4 in the NFC East, but the team could has yet to take advantage of a lackluster division. It probably won’t get much easier opposite the “greatest of all time” on Sunday.
Cousins has more interceptions than touchdowns this year and will likely make careless mistakes against New England’s secondary. If Washington can find a way to leave Gillette Stadium with a win, then Cousins will accomplish something no other quarterback has done this year: Beat the G.O.A.T.
No matter what happens, though, Cousins’ respect for Brady can be applauded.
